Just imagine… you are sipping a warm latte, sitting in a soft comfy chair, some nice mellow tunes are playing in the background… the perfect watering hole for a Sunday afternoon. Konrad is literally right around the corner of Grand Rue – it’s a hidden secret well-known gem of a coffee shop, boasting the best cuppa coffee & carrot cake around.

As Konrad is a retro vintage meets indie alternative café and bar, it also makes for a great after-work spot during the week. Though I tend to spend quiet mornings there reading, researching, and writing, I sometimes find myself hanging around on a Monday night. Why? Because Open Mic Night, that’s why. Not that *I* sing, mind you, rather I enjoy the performances of others much more talented than myself.

As a creature of habit and nostalgia, I find the staff turnover a bit saddening; however there are a few going steady that I can be sure to count upon for my usual soya cappuccino and slice of carrot cake. Mind you, it’s best not to count calories on this tasty treat!

Give it a go sometime, I’m positive you won’t be disappointed.
